2. Who may rent

3. Rental terms

4. Service area — 100-mile radius

Local miles only. Vehicles must remain within a 100-mile radius of Charlotte, North Carolina. Inside that radius your mileage is unlimited.

This radius includes part of upstate South Carolina and stops well short of the far side of North Carolina. It is enforced by GPS.

Taking a vehicle outside the service area without our written permission is a breach of these terms and may result in the rental being ended, the vehicle recovered, and recovery costs charged to you.

5. GPS tracking

Every vehicle carries a GPS tracking device. We monitor location, movement and mileage for the duration of your rental in order to enforce the service area, schedule maintenance, assist in an emergency, and recover vehicles. By renting from us you consent to this tracking.

6. Payments, deposits and late payment

7. Your responsibilities

8. Ending a rental

Tell us before you return a vehicle so we can arrange collection or drop-off and complete the inspection. Billing continues until the vehicle is returned and checked in. We may end a rental immediately if payment is missed, the service area is breached, the vehicle is misused, or we believe it or any person is at risk.

If a vehicle is kept or used after a payment is due and unpaid, or after the rental has ended, that is unauthorised retention: it may be reported to law enforcement and pursued as theft or unauthorised use of a motor vehicle, and we may recover the vehicle from private or public property where legally permitted, without breach of the peace. The vehicle remains our property at all times, and to the fullest extent permitted by law we are within our rights to take back a vehicle that has not been paid for. You remain responsible for all amounts owed and for the costs of recovery.

9. Accidents and continuation of a rental

In any accident, however minor, you must call 911, obtain an official police report and give us a copy for insurance purposes, notify us immediately on 980-272-8122, photograph the scene, exchange details with every party, not admit fault, and not arrange any repair. Failure to obtain and provide a police report may void insurance cover, may end the rental immediately, and leaves you personally liable.

Continuing to rent after an accident is not automatic and is at our discretion. It is allowed only if the accident was reported to law enforcement, a valid police report has been given to us, and we and our insurer approve continuation. If approved, a $300 Accident Continuation Deposit is payable before the rental resumes: $150 is applied toward repair costs (including any insurance deductible or damage-related expense) and $150 becomes your new refundable security deposit; together with your original $150 deposit, a total of $300 goes toward repairs and the remaining $150 is held as your active security deposit going forward. If you do not pay the Accident Continuation Deposit, the rental ends immediately and the vehicle is recovered.

If you are involved in a second accident during the same rental period, insurance cover may be denied, we may end the rental immediately, you may be held fully liable for all damages, losses and related costs, and continuation of the rental is not permitted.

10. Vehicle Partner Programme

Our programme for vehicle owners is currently closed to new applicants. Registering interest creates no agreement, no obligation on either side, and no entitlement to place a vehicle with us. Any owner arrangement is governed by a separate written agreement.

11. Website and portal

You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account. Do not attempt to access another customer's records, disrupt the service, or copy our content for commercial use. Our assistant "Linda" gives general guidance only; where it conflicts with these terms or your signed rental agreement, the written agreement governs.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rent 2 Go is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, including lost earnings, arising from your use of a vehicle or of this website. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Our total liability in connection with a rental will not exceed the amounts you paid for that rental.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, and the courts of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina have jurisdiction over any dispute.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use our service after a change means you accept the revised terms.
